Complete Training Plans

If you have the skillset and desire to follow a training plan on your own, are a recreational racer, or just need some general volume progression guidance, I have developed complete training plans which can be broadly applied.

12-Week 50 km Marathon Nordic Ski Training Plan

12-Week Complete Beginner/Intermediate skate or classic nordic ski training plan for athletes with beginner to intermediate nordic skiing skills (1-3 years nordic skiing experience) competing in the American Birkebeiner (the Birkie) or similar.

16-Week Ironman® 70.3® Training Plan

16-Week Intermediate (2-4 years of experience racing at 70.3 distance) Ironman® 70.3® (half distance) training plan built around three Base and two Build phases with a recovery week every 3rd week. The plan culminates in a 3-week taper into the race.

Build/Peak Phase Cycling Training Plans

Short (4- to 12-week) training plans built for multi-discipline cyclists (summer mountain bikers or road cyclists who race cyclocross), cyclists competing in more than one “A” race in a season, or year-round recreational cyclists with an existing sport-specific aerobic base who wish to focus as they get close to a goal race.

12-Week Cyclocross Training Plan

12-Week Beginner/Intermediate (Cat 3 or Cat 4, 1-3 years cycling or mountain bike experience) Cyclocross (CX) training plan built around two 4-week build phases and one 4-week peak/race phase. This training plan is designed to tie-on to your summer sportive, road racing, gravel or mountain bike fitness and get you cross-ready. You should aim to coincide the final week of the plan with a weekend "A" race.

4-Week 2nd-Race Century Gran Fondo or Cyclosportive

4-Week Build/Peak Phase training plan for cyclists with an established aerobic base (riding up to 4 hours consecutive at least once a week and 10-12 hours a week for at least 4 weeks) competing in a 100-mile event like a gran fondo or cyclosportive. This training plan is intended to follow up to a recently completed 3-5 hour duration bike race or full- or half-distance (Ironman® or Ironman 70.3) triathlon.

4-Week Cyclocross Training Plan

4-Week Build/Peak Phase Beginner (Cat 4 or Cat 5, 0-2 years cycling or mountain bike experience) Cyclocross (CX) training plan for cyclists and mountain bikers with an established aerobic and muscular base (riding up to 2 hours consecutive at least once a week and 8-10 hours a week for at least 4 weeks). This training plan is especially appropriate for cyclists who have recently completed a mid- to late-season marathon mountain bike race who wish to race in a regional cyclocross series.

Education & Experience

I am a graduate of the Bozeman Center for Healing Arts 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program, am a Yoga Alliance Registered RYT200 Yoga Teacher, IRONMAN Certified Coach, USAC Cycling Coach, NSCA-certified CSCS Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and ACE-certified Group Fitness Instructor.

I helped launch a functional fitness studio in Bozeman, Montana, have taught small group exercise classes including indoor cycling, as well as hatha, restorative, and vinyasa styles of yoga, and have helped age group athletes get into and excel at triathlon, cyclocross, mountain biking and endurance road cycling.

As a full-service remote coach for endurance athletes, I will provide the mentoring, guidance, and structure for you to have and stick to a plan to build fitness, develop resilience, and compete against others while enjoying doing it, wherever in the world you are.
